Didier Robert

After graduating from Sciences-Po Paris, Didier started his carreer with Merkuria, a subsidiary of Sucden specialized in Cocoa, Coffee and Fertilizer, assisting the General Manager on complex trade finance transactions involving prefinancing (Red clause and green clause LC) and legal aspects.

He then joined Brown Brothers & Harriman (a registered stock broker of the NYSE in Paris, New York, Zurich and Luxemburg) and worked four years as an administrative officer.

Upon completion of his Graduate Program in Development and International Cooperation (University of Ottowa), Didier came back to the Commodities Trading industry and held various positions such as Financial Manager at Mekatrade (Fertilizer Trading company), Trade Finance & Credit Manager (Yara France) covering Africa, Latin America and France, Deputy General Manager in charge of Finance at L'Aiglon (Cotton trading company) in Geneva. 

He then took over the Trade Finance activity at Cotecna and later on joined Indagro (fertilizer trading company) and Wabco Cotia (fertilizer producer) as a financial manager. 

He structured credit lines, set up trade finance transactions and insurance policies on credit and political risks, and worked on trade receivables recovery, arbitrations, legal cases, taxes, accounting and shipping. He always favoured « on the ground » experience to avoid demurrages and secure receivables.

Since 2011,  Didier has been working in West Africa in the Fertilizer Business promoting organic fertilizer as the West African Manager with Nitora Commodities.

Didier is a graduate from Sciences-Po Paris and has completed a graduate program from Ottawa University in International Development and Cooperation. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish.

Didier is fond of  Latin American, Japanese and African litterature. He is also very much into spirituality and ethnology and above all.... Meeting people.
