Adil Qayyum
After completing his Masters in Banking and Financial Markets, Adil worked as a pricing analyst with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).
Adil then moved to the corporate finance and business-restructuring sector. Working for BDO LLP , the 5th largest accountancy and business advisory brand across the globe, Adil was involved with the advisory on several SME insolvency and administration cases through to companies with distressed debt who required advisory on the servicing of their debts. He was involved with the sale of company assets, formulated strategies on how companies could service their debts more efficiently, and investigated as to why the companies were distressed. Dealing with several different types of cases in a variety of different industries.
After establishing a network of several industry professionals throughout many different business sectors, Adil was offered with the opportunity to work for a boutique physical oil brokerage in London, GPC Brokers. He had always wanted to work in the Oil & Gas space and this was his chance to excel.
Adil quickly established himself as a self-starter for the company and within months obtained several blue chip clients across the globe. Over his time at GPC , he generated almost $500k in revenues concentrating mainly on arb transactions for the fuel oil market ARA to ASIA and Naptha/condensates from the MED/AG to India and ASIA. He also got involved in intercontinental trades between NWE, the MED and WAF. The market changed significantly over the last three years allowing major Asian/AG traders and Refiners to invest in European refineries and trading operations and taking advantage of the highly liquid ARA market. Adil’s networking capabilities also allowed him to open up the first crude and LPG desk at GPC. GPC quickly became a key player in the physical market for the AG and FEA.
After establishing himself as a successful broker, Adil then decided it was time to move on and effectively took a career break, taking 7 months out for travelling and visiting Asia and South East Asia for his expeditions.
Adil holds a BA(Hons) in Accounting and Finance. He has also completed his Masters MSc Banking and Financial Markets from Bournemouth University and his Masters from Kingston university Business school.
Adil is a keen follower of motor sport and is also passionate about mixed martial arts, boxing, general travelling and experiencing different cultures.
