Augusto Godoy Barreiros
Augusto started his career in the aluminum sector working as a market intelligence analyst at Alcoa, supporting Alcoa´s Alloying Materials (magnesium, manganese, silicon, etc) procurement team globally in order to provide timely and useful analyses to support strategic sourcing process.
Simultaneously with MI activities, Augusto was also responsible for procuring raw materials (silicon, magnesium, manganese, (caustic soda, fuel oil, chemicals, coke, pitch, fluoride, etc)for 4 Alcoa plants located in Brazil, with a total annual spend of US$ 150 million.
Subsequently, Augusto joined Usiminas, a flat steel producer located in Brazil with 2 plants and 9 million tons of capacity, as a Raw Materials Procurement Coordinator, being Responsible for procuring and managing stocks of iron ore, ferro alloys (ferro manganese, ferro silicon, ferro niobium, zinc, aluminum, etc) fluxes (lime, limestone, dolomite, manganese ore, titanium dioxide, etc), pig iron and scrap with an annual spend of US$ 1 billion and a total of 15 million tons.
Currently, Augusto is involved in consulting and developing new business in raw materials sector.
Augusto is a chemical engineer from UFSCar (Federal University of São Carlos, SP, Brazil) and has a MBA with emphasis in finance from IBMEC (Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil), with an extension in Entrepreneurship from Babson College.
Augusto enjoys sports as soccer, basketball, American football and is also passionate about his family, learning new things/cultures and reading.
