Doug started his career on the trading floor of the American Stock Exchange( AMEX) and was working as a trade reporter during the 1987 stock market crash. Doug continued at the AMEX as an Options Surveillance Analyst. He prepared written reports of investigations for referral to the exchanges compliance department and the SEC. Prior to Operation Desert Storm Doug began as a broker and trader of Crude Oil futures and options on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). In a few short years Doug Co-founded and built, HQ Energy Trading LLC., a commodity derivatives brokerage and trading business from scratch into one of the largest independent energy option brokers on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). Today Doug manages HQ Energy Tradings day-to-day business operations of executing and clearing commodity futures and options all while ensuring the compliance by the firm and persons acting on the firm’s behalf, with relevant legal and regulatory requirements on the:

Doug has a BA in Economics from the University of Iowa, where he was a four year letterman on the varsity swim team.
Doug is a member of the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) and helps manages the NYAC post grad and elite swim programs. This program has had medalists in the Beijing, London and Rio Olympics. Doug is also a National board member of Swim Across America (SAA) a national nonprofit organization founded with the purpose of granting the proceeds from its benefit swims to fund cancer research and clinical trials.
