After serving the Brazilian Army as a Cavalry officer, Eduardo joined Maersk Sealand’sExport documentation team handling the Bills of Lading of the main referee cargo accounts. Later, Eduardo started working as a steel trader for Marubeni-Itochu Steel, a Joint Venture between two main centennial Japanese sogo-shosha’s and currently one of the main steel trading houses globally. Passionate about working in multicultural teams, Eduardo has developed several businesses from scratch, connecting customers and suppliers in Latin and North America, Asia and Europe. With a hands-on approach, Eduardo was also involved in several mill-to-mill businesses, having leaded fromTechnical Protocols and Letters of Credit negotiations up to cargo inspections at the arrival port. His perseverance in creating new business lead him to visit several steel mills in the world, hundreds of customers in various sectors and get involved in negotiation of investment projects of steel service centers. Seeking to expand his knowledge in the commodities field, Eduardo joined Vale’s Iron Ore Marketing Team and worked on several market studies covering iron ore distribution. Back to steel business, Eduardo joined Usiminas to work in commercial planning and pricing strategy.
Eduardo’s education has been motivated by his passion for international trade. Eduardo has a Business Management and International Trade degree, with a MBA at Universidade de São Paulo and a Master in Economics at Université Pierre Mendès, in Grenoble, France. Eduardo is a Portuguese native speaker and fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
Besides international trade, Eduardo is passionate about sports, languages and Italian cinema, having taken courses at Università per Stranieri di Siena, Italy.
