Fred started his professional career in the year 1996 with Willich Nigeria Limited a thermal Insulation company as a Field Engineer on the Nigerian first gas gathering project; the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) gathering project situated on Bonny Island; one of the biggest gas gathering projects in Africa. A joint venture project between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and the International Oil Companies (IOC’s); made up of Total, Shell and Eni. Willich was contracted to carry out thermal insulation of pipeline, equipment and other engineering components on the onshore and offshore, from Mobil Oso offshore platform to the NLNG plant on Bonny Island; Mobil Oso Gas to Liquid (GTL) project was part of the NLNG gas gathering project. I coordinated Willich project site activity, inspected work and ensure compliance with specified standards and drawings, daily field report, and meetings with client and other major contractors to improve project quality and delivered project on schedule. He was elevated to a project engineer on Willich next project for Total Obite/Obagi gas plant. Tasked with planning and coordinating the project site, scheduling/monitoring project activities, routing meetings with end user, wrote reports on projects daily activities to the management and ensure safety and quality project execution in compliance with specified standards. His drive for a more challenging opportunity and quest for breaking new ground made me venture into marketing. He secured employment in the year 2000 as a Technical Sales Manager with Tosdere Nig Limited, a private oil and gas Services Company that is into engineering procurement and engineering services. He ensured all Tosdere company documents as required by the oil and gas regulating Authority are up to date for registration with the Directorate of Petroleum Resources (DPR) which is the first step to be perfected before a company can operate in the Nigerian Oil and gas sector. Further to perfecting the documentation for Tosdere, he proceeded and registered its operation with both oil and gas services and producing companies; Shell, Mobil, Agip, Chevron, Halliburton, Shlumbager etc. Tosdere participated on some project bidding process, were he prepared the bid packages for submission. He collaborated with Managers and Engineers to implement and develop capital project from concept to submission, liaise with customers and stakeholders, manage contractors and implement regulatory requirements. Coordinated and prepared the bid for the supply of compressor package on Obifun/Obrikon Gas Plant a Nigerian Agip Oil Company project. his carrier pursuit and crave for more business conquest led me to LAAS Group in 2003 as a Business Development Manager with the role of developing LAAS Group business in order to meet up with the Local Content requirements of the Nigeria Content Monitoring and Development Board (NCMDB) to enable it participates on upstream and downstream oil and gas project bids. He drafted business alliance proposals and memorandum of understanding for partnership with foreign Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to collaborate and explore business opportunity together in the Nigerian/West African big oil and gas market. LAAS Group participated as a subcontractor on Agbami FPSO Chevron Nigeria Limited project and supplied pipeline equipment and ancillary. He left LAAS in 2006 to consult for Icon Marine a new company that is interested in harnessing business opportunity in the West Africa upstream and downstream oil and gas business opportunity with interest in oil and gas marine activities; crude oil and petroleum product marine haulage, downstream petroleum product trucking/marketing, engineering Fabrication yard for the implementation of oil and gas fabrication projects in Nigeria/West Africa. he sourced for foreign loans and partners for funding and to collaborate and explore the Local Content business opportunity available for the indigenous services companies in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, developed business relationship with downstream and upstream oil and gas majors, recruited capable hands for Icon Marine to man key positions in the marketing and engineering departments for the downstream petroleum product marketing and fabrication yard, secured foreign funding for Icon Marine to start off its operations. After completing his assignment with Icon Marine, he joined Ebonite Nigeria Limited 2009 as the Business Development Director, he ensured programs, project, other team deliverables and activities stay on time and on target, focus on growing sale. Developed synergy with equipment vendors to the oil and gas companies, liaise with shipping agents on procurement, effectively prospect for new sales and add new customers. Managed sales prospect/opportunity, develop/maintain customer proposal schedules (including review), plans and outlines, track task assignments. Coordinate/Schedule meetings both internally and externally, with prospective customers and partners. Develop joint venture representation with foreign partners to promote Local Content Initiative of the Government and the oil and gas regulating Authority. Coordinate data calls timely, accurate email notifications and update to team members, works with project team on client project. Works with the marketing and PR teams to direct marketing and sales strategies and materials, coordinates product/services sales within Nigeria and the West African sub-region oil and gas industry. Supplied production chemicals to Shell Producing Nigeria Limited and Exterran Nig Ltd, procured heat exchangers for Jebba Hydro Power Generating Company, supplied Radiation Detective equipment to the Nigerian Port Authority and trained personnel on how to use the equipment. In collaboration with Avsco Houston; Ebonite participated on Mobil Major Intergrity Projects (MIPS); supplied electrical marine cables, pipeline equipment and ancillary etc. With the experience gathered for over 14 years in business and trainings both on the job and outside training on business expertise, he decided to float my company Crank Energy Limited in the year 2010. Crank Energy Limited is a company with expertise in procurement, business development/marketing, Agency representation and engineering services, providing quality product and services to the public and private sectors in Nigeria/West Africa. Crank Energy is in partnership with some foreign companies; EPC’s and OEM’s synergizing together to supply quality products and services to its customers; both public and private sector in Nigeria/West Africa. His area of specialization is business development and he is able to identify new business opportunities as it presents itself in our environment and synergize with world class companies to take advantage of this opportunity, ability to face business challenges and surmount it by proffering the right business solutions.
