Isaac Fainstein

Isaac is an economist with solid background in capital markets. After he graduated from the Master in Finance at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT), one of the most important local universities in Argentina, he started his professional career in Consultores Asset Management. Consultores is the family office of Eduardo Elsztain, which is one of the most prominent Argentine businessmen which controls a diversified conglomerate of different listed companies in Buenos Aires, Brazil, US and Israel, such as IRSA, Cresud, Banco Hipotecario and IDBD. Isaac started as a junior research analyst, and quickly jumped as the head of the trading desk of the family office. During the last 5 years he has been trading equities, fixed income, derivatives and precious metals. He also advises in capital market and OTC transactions for the family, third parties and the group of company’s portfolios, and actively participates in investment committees. Isaac is also professor of Corporate Finance in Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) in Buenos Aires, of Portfolio Management for the local SEC validated certification “Asesor Financiero Certificado”, and in 2016 he has been invited to teach Derivatives Analysis at the IESEG School of Management in Lille, France.

Isaac made his bachelor in economics at Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS) in Bahia Blanca, where he was born. In 2009 he made the Master in Finance degree at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT), which is one of the most prestigious local universities and business schools. He received the only scholarship granted that year, and served as a research assistant, working alongside PhD Juan José Cruces (Dean of UTDT Business School). Later, Isaac passed the level 2 of CFA.

Isaac enjoys music, he plays percussion with his band, performing improvisation directed by signs. He also loves reading and travelling: the real way of understanding different cultures and learning about different issues the humanity faces in different parts of the world. In 2014 he undertook the Transmongolian trip by train from St. Petersburgh to Beijing, which was an inflection point in his life. Isaac is an enthusiastic to learn new things every day.
