Nicolas Gomez
After graduating as an Industrial Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia), Nicolas started his career as the head of Research and Development for Coopvencedor. His main goal was to analyze the company´s expansion projects in order to optimize the use of resources.
Nicolas also specialized in Exchange Markets and Financial Risk Management and was quickly awarded the position of financial director (while also heading the R&D department).
He then joined Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and was offered a trading position. The job included the handling and trading of all feed ingredients, agricultural commodities (as well as aminoacids) for Colombia and Ecuador.
Within the trading department, Nicolas and his team managed to position ADM as the first supplier of agricultural commodities in Colombia for 3 years in a row with sales of over 2.5 million tons and a net income over US$8 million per year.
While working with ADM, Nicolas decided to embark upon a Executive MBA with a specialization in financial risk management. In 2010 he was offered a position at Cygnus S.A. (the financial branch of a group of companies involved in the oil industry in Colombia). The position involved risk managements in commodities, exchange and interest rates.
Later on, several Colombian customers from the grain market grouped together and created Colombian grain. They offered him to become their special advisor for grain procurement.
Alongside his consulting job (Cygnus/Colombian Grain), Nicolas decided to set-up his own trading company called Agritrade.
Nicolas is also now dedicated to business development and executive search.
Nicolas holds a degree in industrial engineering from Pontifica Universidad Javeriana (Colombia) , a degree in Exchange Markets and Financial Risk Management from CESA and a MBA from Edinburgh Business School (UK).
Nicolas is passionate about commodity trading, traveling and Golf.
