Svetlana Almatova
Svetlana started her professional career as a Coordinating Manager for the international projects on ‘know-how’ exchange between Russian and North American experts in the oil industry. Based in Toledo, Ohio, USA, she was responsible for budget control, program financing/planning, and Public Relations.
Upon the completion of her master degree in public administration (MPA) she became an associate consultant for the Pragma Corporation, one of the Capital Markets Institutional Development Projects in the Kyrgyz Republic. She was recruited to become part of the financial markets team, which acted as an advisory in establishing a functional National Commission on Securities, in developing the legal and regulatory framework for securities market development, in stimulating listing and trading activity on the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange, in establishing the Central Depository, and in developing the various types of private securities markets institutions.
Later, Svetlana was involved in the governmental project on accounting reform along with the Carana Corporation, and was in charge of translating the guidance 'Public Sector Accounting' for the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan.
She then started an entrepreneurial venture by creating her own translation company 'Contact' which operated in three different countries of the post-Soviet states, such as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia
Svetlana then moved to Switzerland a few years ago and provided consulting services in organizational structure and work/residency regulations for the Russian community.
In summary, over 15 years of worldwide experience in Public Policy, Financial Markets, International Management, Marketing Strategy, and PR.
Svetlana earned a degree in Romano-Germanic Philology from the Kyrgyz State University, a degree in Psychology from the Novosibirsk State University, Russia, and a Master in Public Administration from Toledo University, USA.
Svetlana is fluent in Russian, English, French, Kyrgyz, and Ukrainian.
Svetlana is passionate about criminal psychology, political technologies, forensic investigation as well as skydiving and snowboarding.
