Position: DIRECTOR for its Trade & Commodity Finance Division in Amsterdam
Duties and Responsibilities:
Proposes and implements the business strategy and budget of related TCF Department (energy)
Oversees the existing portfolio of clients from relationship, commercial, credit risk and integrity risk perspectives.
Coordinates the Department’s activities towards client origination and asset growth.
Reviews and actively comments on credit proposals, selects eligible files for further submission to Credit Administration Department and review of Credit Committee members.
Constantly monitors macroeconomic, country-specific, commodity-specific and client-specific credit risks; constantly reviews portfolio and transactions for credit risk assessment and deterioration.
Interacts with other departments to resolve emerging or chronic issues directly related to the Department’s activities. Makes the reasonable assessment for elevating issues to TCF ED.
Informs ED Trade Finance and other related parties to the requirements, requests and necessities (including but not limited to technological support, subscription to publications, participation to conferences, etc.) in order to maximize the department’s performance.
Managerial Responsibilities:
Prepares and manages departmental business plan, lays out the working framework and allocates tasks and duties amongst team members.
Motivates and coaches staff to achieve professional development and optimal performance results.
Continuously monitors and develops team members’ performances. Requests necessary trainings for team members based on these assessments.
Executes performance appraisals of employees within the dedicated time periods.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Trade Finance at a financial institution or at a commodity trading firm.
Specific commodity knowledge energy / oil markets
Existing client portfolio and network of executives
Ability to build up asset for the Department acquisition of new clients
Proficient in a wide array of products in the European trade finance market
Proficient in financial statements analysis of trading and distribution businesses
University degree
Required Skills/ Competencies:
Top level self-motivation
Performs under time-pressure, delivers results within strict deadlines
Ability to coach other team members and motivate for learning
Proven fluency in English. French, Spanish and/or Dutch is a plus
