This leading international law firm is seeking a further Senior Associate to join their highly-rated Aviation Finance team in Dubai. The firm as a whole has a pre-eminent reputation in Aviation, worldwide, with their Finance team acting for an impressive list of airlines, financiers, lessors, corporates and high net worth individuals, on a full range of cross-border finance, leasing, sale/purchase and operation/management transactions, for both commercial and business aircraft. 

The role will focus predominently on these areas, though will also include some generalist, non-contentious Aviation matters (incl. regulation), as well as some Marine and generalist Finance transactions from time-to-time. Clients are drawn from all spheres of the aerospace industry and the Aviation Industry Group is one of the largest and most dedicated to the sector of any international law firm. This prominent position is widely recognised by the independent legal directories
(Chambers and Legal 500), who routinely rank the firm as a top tier Aviation practice.

The Role
The role includes:
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents in connection with all forms of aircraft finance transactions whether by way of debt, lease or deferred sale and from the straightforward to the more complex capital markets, export credit, Islamic or tax based finance structures including structured debt financing, tax lease structures, restructuring and insolvency, JOLCOs, pre-delivery payment financing, finance and operating leases in connection with wide body aircraft or private/business jets;
- negotiating purchase agreements, specific maintenance agreements with airframe and engine manufacturers in addition to MROs and assisting in connection with agreements between airlines such as joint venture arrangements and commercial agreements;
- more generally, communicating with airlines, financiers, aircraft lessors, manufacturers, servicers, maintenance providers and other industry participants in connection with aircraft finance and lease transactions.

The Person
The suitable candidate would need to have the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment whilst maintaining high quality work and excellent attention to detail. They should have the ability to work in a culturally diverse and global business and industry, and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders, clients and business partners. Able to travel more than 50% of his time.

Key Skills & Experience Required
1. preferably up to 5-6 years post qualification experience, within a City firm environment;
2. strong academics (to include a minimum of a 2.1 at first degree level or equivalent);
3. good analytical skills;
4. excellent drafting skills, in relation to both advice and contractual documentation;
5. attention to detail;
6. strong presentation skills;
7. keen interest in business development and marketing;
8. previous experience of pitching to clients, writing articles and presenting at client seminars;
9. project management skills, and ability to motivate and influence others to achieve goals;
10. self-motivated, pro-active and articulate; and
11. good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels.
