DESCRIPTION

• The regional Farm Services Manager will be a key member of the regional management team of Africa and will report directly to the Regional Sustainability Director. He/she will have a strong dotted line to the Global Farm Services Director to ensure clear translation of design and strategy to the region. As this person will be the key person in Farm Services in the region, this person will be the gatekeeper to ensure that there is a consistent efficient, effective offering to the customers (cocoa farmers) whilst making a return to the company.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility for the Africa Region farm services operations. He/she will be responsible for achieving the targets established for the Africa Region relating to providing Farm Services and goods to be supplied to farmers via Farm Business Plans




• Establishing consistent approach across the region.




• She/he will be responsible for liaising with Global Crop Science Director in optimizing the offering to farmers…




• She/he will be contribute to the co-design of the Farm Services Operations country by country actively provide feedback to the team in Switzerland. The person will assure that the plans made at group level are executionable and when needed he/she will shape the proposal so it can be done. (Link with global team to bring execution reality into design of new plans/programs)




• Creating a Farm Services Operations organization country by country that will provide service to the farms is a key cornerstone of our sustainability program; She/he will guide and set-up the Farm Services organization in Africa, which should be tailered to the country we are operating in.




• Be the point of contact for Africa Farm Services Operations to develop and maintain high level of engagement with PARTNERS in the Farm Services Offering in Africa together with the country Farm Services Operations responsible.




• Responsible for translating the yearly targets for Farm Services to the region/country organization.




• In collaboration with IT/IM DEPARTMENT and M&E DEPARTMENT, make sure that DATA COLLECTION relating to Farm Services Operations gets efficiently done in every country. He/She is part of the decision body on the program/Way of Working on all data collection requirements.




• Helps building and support the country team in defining the Farm Services Operations BUDGET’s monitoring and reporting.




• PUBLIC RELATIONS: He/she has will support the country MD’s/country sustainability managers with the preparation and when appropriate the representation on all public relations events/ including customer visits

 

Additional comments:

• The role is based in Ivory coast but requires 35% travel in the region of Africa.




• The person in the role has to be able to work in an operational environment, translating strategy and design into execution and guide & develop a team to establish a successful Farm Services Operations in each country.

 

REQUIRED ACADEMIC & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Economy, Business, Management or any equivalence
