For one of the largest French bank in Switzerland and established in Geneva for more than 100 years, we are looking for a Documentary Credit Specialist whose responsibilities will be as follow:

His / Her main duties will be:


  • Draft and issue Import and Export letters of credit (opening, negotiation and payment) mostly related to the financing of commodities (soft, energy and metals) as per customers instructions in accordance with credit facilities granted


  • Notify export documentary credit transactions


  • Ensure the documents flow in back to back transactions and more structured ones


  • Check accuracy and compliance of documents presented in the frame of the documentary credit transactions. Inform all stakeholders accordingly.


  • Ensure compliance checks on documentary credit transactions in strict compliance with the Bank's rules and procedures


  • Monitor payments in the frame of documentary credit operations


  • Issue / advise and monitor guarantees (bid, performance bonds, payment guarantees, advance payment guarantees, etc.) and import/export documentary collection


  • Discounting in the frame of documentary credit undertaking of payment and draft


  • Stock monitoring


  • Accounting of transactions in the Bank IT tool


  • Monitor all transactions initiated up to repayment


  • Inform all stakeholders on transactions workflow


  • He / She is in contact with customers, Front Office, Compliance, Permanent Control, Risks Department amongst others.


Requirements:


  • Degree or Bachelor in Commerce or equivalent


  • min. 8 years of work experience in the Documentary Credit department of banks


  • Exposure towards the commodities (raw materials) sector


  • Judgment and problem solving


  • Good organisation skills


  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy


  • Effective written and oral communication skills


  • Team spirit


  • Dynamic, proactive, pragmatic


  • Fluent in French and English


  • Computer skills and knowledge of IT tools
